Create an Entry in 3 Keystrokes

Start typing and the form appears. No "New Entry" button, no modal, no friction.

The biggest enemy of consistent logging is friction. If it takes more than a few seconds to create an entry, you won't do it. And if you don't log consistently, the tool is useless.

Type to create

In Backlog, there's no "New Entry" button to find. At the top of the timeline (and on every client page), there's an input field. Start typing, and the full form expands automatically.

Pick a type, add details if you want, hit Create. The entry is saved and the form collapses. You're back to where you were.

Sensible defaults

The default type is "note" — the most common entry. If you just want to jot something down, type and save. Two seconds. The form adapts when you pick a different type: agenda shows a date picker, timetracking shows an hours field, income/expense shows an amount field.

From client pages

Create an entry from a client's page and it's automatically tagged to that client. One less thing to think about.
